To be in the presence of pictures like this is incredible, you can feel the aura of every image. And then to be responsible for the documentation of the exhibit, it just makes you really want to do a proper job at representing the work and energy of the show.
The video shoot consisted of three parts, documenting the framed photographs, a well lit, sit down interview with Curatorial Director Kimberly Drew, and then a moving documentation of a public talk throughout the gallery between Kimberly and Michal Raz-Russo the Program Director of The Gordon Parks Foundation.
One tricky thing was that the framed images had a tiny glare that I wanted to eliminate, so I set up a portable black backdrop to reflect in every frame, thus eliminating the individual reflections.
